Hello world and all that inhabit it!
If you are part of the LGBTQ+ community, you are aware of the demand for accepting public spaces. There are bars and clubs here and there, yes, but those only help so much. First of all, you've got to be either 18 or 21 years old (in the U.S. anyway). Second, you have to be one to enjoy that kind of scene. Personally, I love dancing and doing away with all responsibility for two hours in a crowded, noisy building. But I'm not everyone. Some people can't stand that kind of thing and just want to relax. Some people aren't old enough. Some people have illnesses or disabilities that hinder their enjoyment around boosted bass and flashing lights. Some people cannot or should not be near alcohol. This is where a little place called Cuties Coffee comes in.
Los Angeles based coffee shop, Cuties Coffee, is a "queer social space that isn’t a bar or nightclub, making it accessible to young people and anyone uncomfortable in alcohol-oriented environments, which is rare and important" (
hicuties.com/).
This kind of LGBTQ+ space is super rare, which should be a good enough reason to want to see it thrive. Unfortunately it's in danger of closing.
Even if you're nowhere near its location, helping the business out could spark a chain reaction of more and more LGBTQ+ friendly spaces across the country, or even the world.
Please, if you can, become a Patron for Cuties here:
www.patreon.com/cutiescoffeeThey have until November 1st to raise $12,000 (the money sits at $7,337 as I'm typing this). And this is even better if you live in or near L.A., because Patrons who reach certain goals get perks such as contributions to the "Extra Love" bucket (which benefits someone in the community), free coffee, mugs, a spot on their Wall of Fame, and moar.
And if you can't donate, it can't hurt to spread the word. Thank you, if you made it this far!
And with that,
'An' it harm none, do what ye will."
